Level the City
About
So there's a villain by the name of... uh... Dr. Prof. Evilus Maximus...? What?
Okay, a villain by the name of Dr. Prof. "Mints in Diet Cola" Evilus Maximus Pep Talk Beast Mouth is looking to file a couple of eviction notices. They're looking to enforce them in style. With bombs. That's where you, one of their lovely assistants, comes in to make the ultimate recursive nesting bomb.
Create bombs that explode into more bombs, which then split into even more bombs, and split over and over. Just make sure not to do it too much--we only want the bombs to explode, not your computer. Push the destruction meter over the white line to beat a level. See how few bombs you can use to demolish everything!
Controls
The game is meant to be played with only the mouse for the most part.
For convenience, you may use the ESC key to go back a menu, the R key to restart a level and open the bomb builder, and SPACE to pause the game.
Our submission to Godot Wild Jam #80
Since this is the product of a game jam, expect bugs, jank, and performance issues. I mean, you shouldn't be surprised if you're spawning 10,000 bombs anyways!
The theme was "controlled chaos". We chose to use 2 of the 3 wildcards.
- "I am... wait, what?" -- every character has a ridiculous name. Our bombs are characters, sort of.
- "Simple shapes" -- everything in the game is made of simple shapes. Blocks, circles, triangles.
Each time you start a round, you might notice something different happens each time. Initially I couldn't get the physics to consistently do the same thing every time, so we leaned more heavily into the random chaos. For this reason, to give you some lee-way, you don't need to destroy every building to win.
We didn't have anybody to make music or sounds. If you're in the Godot Wild Jam server, and are interested in helping with that, please feel free to reach out.
